Morrison went on to say “This is a very complicated and tragic case”. Yes, flippant responses always underline the tragic nature of the loss of life.

Edit: It has been suggested to me that Morrison was only trying to clarify the question. Doesn’t seem that way from the video on the ABC page, however if, and it is a big IF, that is the case, it indicates he is not up to the intellectual requirements of the position.
Random Observations of Life 
I can only hope the people who feel you have been too ‘tough’ hold up the same standards when applied to all politicians interviewed?.
If Mr Morrison is in the habit of not answering questions, which would appear to be the case, i see his response as one of avoidance, habitual, regardless of the topic. Turn the question back ( no pun intended ).
But ultimately I believe politicians should be able to handle themselves in front of a camera, it is part of the job, whether they like it or not. They should be well informed regarding their own portfolio.
Finally, I have not read an article of yours that doesn’t appear reasonable and well thought out. Just saying.

Have listened to Scott Morrison. Boy, is he good at avoiding the questions asked. He just uses spin & ducks behind the barrier of sovereign borders.
The whole process of having to put people into detention (basically behind bars) for any time, whether it is for a short or long time is abhorrent to me. It means IMHO that there are too few people in the Immigration department who are capable of handling anything to do with overstays of visa or the asylum seeker problem is very evident & this government’s only policies are to keep taking us back to the good ol bad ol days of Howard.
My heart goes out to the family of this poor young man who’s only problem was that he overstayed (by how long?) his visa.

Yes, I did notice the reluctance to answer anything in that interview as well as on previous occasions.
I too feel for the family. They would have spent a lot of money to send their son here for an education and now he is dead. We don’t know the details of the overstaying; we may never know, but someone’s child is dead.

R.I.P young man may you really know peace now so sad.We certainly are now living in very strange, selfish times. Maybe we better start praying that God have Mercy on us..As I think Abbott Goverment have gone far to far now. We are by far a different Country now, one that only cares about money and power….
