Men with prickles

by Team Oyeniyi

Now for something completely different.  Each time we go to the Queen Victoria Market doing the hunter/gathering thing, we walk past this cacti outlet.  I love them, but they are quite expensive: so far the need for food has outweighed the need for a cactus or two!

I discovered there is actually a Cactus and Succulent Society of Australia.  The CSSA have some really unique looking plants, such as the two photos to be found here: http://www.cssaustralia.org.au/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=63&Itemid=100 Amazing colours!

No, not just you! I did think of the lack of comfort if this was marketed as a replacement “BOB”!!!

Loved the slide show. Cactus are so vibrant in their colours, they have always been a favourite plant of mine.

The colors on the CSSA site are so unusual for plants! I was stunned!

I will get some, when we get our own house.

Enjoyed the slide show. I had a couple of small potted cacti as a kid. I loved them because I didn’t have to remember to water them very often. ;)

I had some when I was a kid too – I think that is why I like them, it is a reminder of a time long past. :)

I love succulents, and have bought a few, but then propagated the rest, as they are quite easy to grow from cuttings. Cute pictures of cacti.

Thanks, Sami! Just thought something completely light was needed. Been a bit serious around here lately, what with politics, religion and the new first chapter!
