Lunch with a distant (from me) blogger

by Team Oyeniyi

Followers with a sharp eye will have noticed Nancy from Spirit Lights The Way and I had scheduled a lunch date!  It isn’t often that members of the blogosphere from opposite sides of the world get a chance to meet, so when the opportunity presented itself, we grabbed it!

Nancy and Robyn

Nancy and Robyn

The interesting thing about meeting someone whose writing one has been reading for a while is this: you really feel as if you are meeting an old friend you know well. It was not at all like meeting a stranger!

We went to a lovely restaurant and I won’t spoil Nancy’s article by publishing food photos!

With the Florida weather and the flying my feet have swollen to the point wearing my shoes was rather painful.  Embarrassingly I had to remove my shoes before I was dropped back at my hotel.  Luckily I am old enough not to worry TOO much about such social transgressions!

If Nancy and her BFF ever manage to visit “down under” they certainly have gained a tour guide.  Nancy is just as I envisaged from her writing except for one small thing – not once did she say “Arrhhh, that’s better”! :D :D

Thank you Nancy and BFF for a great lunch date!

Good for you to have met. It’s always fun when you meet someone you’ve been communicating long distance with… So far, I’ve met 4 blogger friends and they were exactly as I imagined them; true to their blogging views and style… Awesome! ;-)

I will, Jo! Not sure when I/we will get to NZ though. I think we will have to wait until my family have AU passports, getting an NZ visa on Nigerian passports may be a pain in the butt!

Great pic Robyn! Looks like you two got on really well, but then, I’m not surprised. We get to know each other so well through following each other’s blogs, so when and if we ever meet, it feels like meeting up with an old friend!
I’m hoping to meet up with Nancy next year when we visit Florida – wonder if she can manage another Aussie? lol

I lived there for a few years, Robyn, so know it quite well; we have family and friends there but been a few years since we were there. Going next year!

I met Carole from Piglet in Portugal in July and I really enjoyed meeting her, and just last week I met another blogger from Perth, and we really hit it off.

Unfortunately too far and too expensive now we live on fresh air :) but I can dream…

Thanks, PiP! I’d love to climb right into some of your posts too . . . the festivals, the beach scene, exploring the bugs in your garden. ;)

Wonderful to meet you, Robyn! I will post some food shots tomorrow . . . too tired to do a post by the time we got home tonight.

I might not have said, “Aah . . . that’s better,” but I’m sure I heard your poor feet breathe a sigh of relief when you released them from un-Floridian confinement. :D

Have a deep sleep tonight and enjoy your conference!

Oh, my poor feet. I wore things (flip-flops) to the conference today as my shoes still do not fit properly.

I will check out your photos later – I can certainly understand you were tired, you had a reasonably long drive here and back!
