A bargain buy of shoes!

by Team Oyeniyi

Some days the sun shines, at least figuratively: it certainly wasn’t shining in Melbourne today very much.  Spring, yet it was snowing within cooee of Melbourne.

If I haven’t mentioned this before, I HATE shopping.  With a vengeance.  But I need new shoes.  I had not yet replaced the ones I broke the heel on after I got back from the wedding!

I stopped at our local supermarket today and there is a cute shoe, bags and accessories shop opposite.  I love their stuff, so I had a peep.  These suede shoes were on sale for $50, reduced from $125.  Now that is a bargain in anyone’s language. Depending on your currency, I suppose.  I’ll admit they are unusual.

There was a black pair and a taupe pair, both in my size; the last in stock. The shop owner told me once they are the last, it is better to sell them because otherwise customers keep asking for other sizes so they end up being a waste of time.

I liked the black ones, but summer is coming. What to do, what to do!  I tried both pairs on and pranced around the shop.  Apart from the attractive price, they were comfortable.  As any woman will say, finding comfortable shoes can be a battle at the best of times!

“I tell you what, if you take both pairs, you can have them for $80.”

“Done!”

A win-win situation: she got rid of “time-wasting” shoes and I got a bargain.  We were both happy!

The heel is quite interesting……. apparently this is a rip-off copy of the last winter Prada heel design.  THESE are not Prada, but I’ll go with the flow.

So I came away with two pairs of shoes for $80, saving $170. Not a bad effort for a Friday night spur of the moment purchase!

Apologies for the photography – I just snapped these with the phone because really, bragging about buying shoes would be senseless without pictures.  Yes, I have big feet – so what?  “These boots are made for walking…..” :D :D

Thanks, Pip! I can’t send you any, they were the last in the shop!

Being in an office all day, comfortable and dressy shoes are a must. Runners only cut it on Fridays! Plus I have this USA trip coming up!

I’m with you on buying several pairs at once. I’ve done it before, bought the same style in different colors when they are a good fit.

I worked in a fancy shoe shop when I was younger, and that left me with a shoe fetish!
I hate trying on clothes, but as for shoes… I always make a big effort not to buy all the beautiful shoes I see!
I have bought some pretty but uncomfortable shoes unfortunately. I would buy those as well, they look pretty cute and were a great bargain!

Thanks, Sami! I hate shoe shopping as I have wide feet, a C fitting really. Makes it hard to find comfortable shoes as most are a B fitting unless you buy the specialty brands, which I often do.

Glad you like the look of them!

Good for you. It’s always exciting when we get a bargain like you did. I like these shoes as if they were in my size I think I could walk miles in them. They look comfortable and for me that’s the most important factor when buying shows. They are great looking too and that’s the second most imprtant factor when buying shoes.

I can understand you needing comfort in your shoes, TT. It must be hard for you sometimes to get shoes. The incredibly high heels of recent fashion seasons must be impossible to work in for a day! One of my co-workers carries two pairs of shoes with her all the time: a pretty pair and a functional pair! I don’t have the time to be a two pairs every day woman!

Thank you, thank you! They are rather unique, but look good on! Photos are a bit deceiving!
