Now for some travelling: visiting Florida in October
This is going to be interesting. I am leaving my family to their own devices for a while in October. I will be attending a business conference in Florida. Yes, Florida, USA. That horror flight followed by another five hours across “them thar United States of America”. All up, some 20-odd hours in the air, not counting bustling around airports in transit.
At least one of our followers lives in Florida so MAYBE I might be lucky enough to arrange a meeting! Nancy, are you reading this?
I’m not sure how much time I will have spare, but I have some very special friends who live in Florida and would love to catch up with them too. I let them know today that I will be in their vacinity!
How will my family manage without me around? They will either sink or swim, I guess. They’ll have been here for 16 months by the time I leave, so they should be able to cope. I’m a bit worried they will all live on eggs and noodles in my absence but if they do, it won’t kill them….. I hope.
I also have a wonderful friend in Kansas, but sadly this trip isn’t going to allow me to get to Kansas. I really wish I could swing it, but I can’t.
Mr O wants me to buy him some clothes. He has this weird belief that American clothes are better than Australian clothes. Where he gets this idea from I have no idea. I will have to come back with something for everyone! Mr O Jnr 1 will want something with “swagger”.
Travel might provide some interesting photos and tales! We shall see. Florida, see you next month!

I wish they’d send me to Florida for a conference.. not likely in my job as a Social Worker.. enjoy the break from the family
He he he – will be interesting. First time we’ve been apart since they arrived!
I am reading this.
Where is your conference?
Orlando. Is that within cooee of you?
Yup! We’re 2 hours west of Orlando . . . and my sister lives in Orlando. So, schedules permitting/meshing, it sounds like a meet up is definitely a distinct possibility.
I will email you dates!
Sounds like great fun! I’d love to go to Florida. Sure your family will be fine…and if not they weill certainly appreciate you when you return!
He he he – absence makes the heart grow fonder!
