Have you seen the elephants?
Recently I saw an elephant. A very colourful elephant.
Then I saw another. And another. I discovered all these elephants were to promote the 150th birthday of the Melbourne Zoo.
I think these elephants are pretty stunning and they have inspired me to take the family to the Melbourne Zoo this coming weekend (weather and Mr O’s overtime permitting).
Each elephant has been inspired by someone and I have included the plaques below.
What is your favourite elephant? Click on the photos to see a larger image!
According to the Melbourne Zoo, there are 50 of the Mali herd around town. Have you seen any?

Ahhh here are the elephants.. I’m catching up with them at last.. Fab aren’t they
I want to find more of the 50!
Because my favourite colour is blue I love the Ming elephant, although the Tiger elephant is just so cute too! I saw a similar exhibition in Cascais (Lisbon), although the elephants seemed a tad smaller, but my camera ran out of batteries after taking 2 photos…
Batteries! Now there is the problem with cameras!
the patchwork is just too damn good
Oh, Patch is moving up the popularity ladder!

I like SPOT!
Spot seems to be very popular, I think it is the eyes.
Love the elephants must say the patch work elephant and tigerphant is the best of them all!
Furita ^_^
Glad you like them. I hope to find more of them around town! Welcome to our journey.
I like the tiger-fant best! Nice pictures!
Me too. I think it may be because he has eyes! The others do not seem to have eyes.
How can you not like the orange-bellied parrots? Looks like he’s wearing pyjamas!
Oh I love them, I think the Ming one is best. Bit like the sheep we’ve had here
Sheep? Do you have a link? We have the elephants and moose so far, sheep would be nice!

Thanks for the link! I am glad you like them. Did you check out Jen’s moose link? They are pretty inspiring too!
Nifty! I LOVE it when cities put out statues and other objects to be painted like this – such fun!
Thank you! They do look great, especially the ones located in the gardens.
LOL! I love the tiger elephant … how strange looking. We have moose in Canada like these elephants!
I think the tiger one is my favorite too. If I see more of the 50 I will take shots, but these are the only ones I have noticed in my travels so far.
