Spring peeks through the grey

Compared with my winter and earlier autumn shots, this shows spring is venturing into our new back yard.
I am going to follow this cluster of buds and see what blooms in the coming days.

Nice job and you did.
Thanks! Welcome back! I hope you are well and with fall approaching it is not too cold up your way!
can’t wait to see what it’s going to be
I have a suspicion, but I am not sure.
I think it’s always exciting when you come to a new garden and watch as new plants emerge
We are sweltering in the 10 degrees Celsius of an English summer whilst you freeze in the 20 degrees Celsius of an Australian Spring. Weird planet and weird plant. Hope it’snot a Triffid!
That is like comparing our northern states, where there is actually no winter, just a wet and a dry. They freeze in our winter, but equally, they cook in our dry hot summer when we can get over 40 celsius. They sort of range between 28 – 35 all year, but the humidity in the build up to the wet is horrific – to us southerners, anyway.
No, pretty sure it is not a Triffid – some sort of blossoming fruit tree, just not sure what sort of fruit yet!
Nice! It’s summer in my part of the world, and most of the time, hot as Hell.
There you go! And here is Jan complaining of the coolest summer in 25 years while you are complaining of yours being as hot as hell.
Our winter hasn’t been too cold actually. The bugs, however, have been rampant. I’ve just spent four days with an horrific cold and listening to the sniffs and nose-blowing going on this morning, ALL the kids now have it.
They have never had colds before, so all this nose blowing is new to them. I think Miss O 2 got a slight cold last winter, but they were lucky to escape in 2011, their first winter here. This year they have not been so lucky!
I find it still very hard to wrap my head around all this… Where I live it’s Summer – or at least its’s starting to look like one. Heh. We had the coldest summer in 25 years. Today it has been awesome though with 25C and a little breeze along the coast.
Kinda cool, following those buds. Spring is my favorite season. New start. That goes for you in more than one way!
Yes, Jan it does! I wish I had taken a photo the weekend we moved in, as they would have been just starting then and I could have followed them through as an analogy to our journey in the new house!
It is funny, downunder we just grow up knowing about the season differences, but I have learnt over the years those in the northern hemisphere don’t seem to grow up accepting it as just the way it is, and many, many people say the same thing as you – they can’t wrap their heads around it!
A good sign of Spring, Robyn! It was 22 today here in Queensland, and 24 forecast for tomorrow!
Happy Springtime in your new home!
22? WOW, lucky you. I have another winter bug (my second this winter) an we had 18 yesterday. It was certainly spring springing!
