Interview of Team Oyeniyi shown on Channel 31
I promised to publish, despite how bad I look on camera (never wear pale lipstick on TV), so here we proudly present Natalie Yoannidis’ assignment interview. Many thanks to Natalie for allowing us to share her work. If you wonder if I am ever nervous about pushing the “Publish” button – this is the time!

Very cool!!! You make such a beauty family
xox
Thanks RNP! Just got to lose the weight – I HATE HATE HATE it!!!!! Despite the fact that if I lost weight in Nigeria people would ask if I was alright. Losing wieght means illness or poverty in Nigeria, so some adjustment is required.
Congratulations on the interview… so much has transpired … life!
I am glad you caught up with this. I wanted you to see it, but I know you are busier than I am. Life is just frantic!
it is terrific thaat what you guys have been through is being highlighted. Well done guys !
Thank you, Jo. Wait for the book!
Wonderful! Very well done . . . and you ALL looked FAB!
Fab is lovely, but the problem is Nancy, I know what I looked like before all this started: that is the me I want back! Oh well, in time. Can’t achieve everything at once!
Wow!! That is soooo amazing!!! It makes me so glad after many posts reading about the struggle to make this happen!!!
Thank you so much! I am glad you enjoyed!
YAY! I am glad I got to watch it
Shame it wasn’t longer really….but it was very cool to see you on a news show! They did a very good job.
Well, news items are usually quite short! I’m sure Nat will be pleased to see the positive comments of her work!
I may have to watch it a couple more times as I was watching it more than listening to be honest! LOL
You look fabulous, darling! An awesome interview with an awesome family.
Glad you enjoyed – I like the awesome family phrase – that certainly sums us up, given the trails and tribulations!
You didn’t need to worry about publishing it Robyn.. very glad to see this subject getting the publicity.. Great family
Thank you Helen. This wasn’t the main national news, but certainly a little publicity for the cause for change.
and the right sort of publicity Robyn…that’s the main thing.
Very very true, Helen!
Well done Robyn! and you look fabulous too by the way!
Thanks for checking it out Gilly. Really it is well done to Natalie and Freya and the rest of my family – I didn’t do much!
I truly applaud you for taking on this whole situation when many others would have run in the opposite direction. You both look great on camera, but most of all, you seem to be thriving and surviving off camera. This gives hope to many others who are struggling and have not yet got to where you are today.
Caring for children, a husband and writing a book is no easy task, but with your determination I know it will get done. Continue to push against the tide. Encouraging post.
Thank you and welcome. We are glad that we do give hope to others: many of the contacts we receive tell us just that. It is good to know others not on the situation also see the encouraging aspects.
Never give up!
Good to see your story is getting some press, er, airtime. The kids look happy and healthy, and you & John look good, too, despite all the stress and pressure. Battle on!
Thank you Beverly. Yes, there has been pressure and a lot of stress, but we are indeed getting there. I think in some ways we are all still recovering, but recovering well. That is the main thing!
Thanks for sharing the interview – you have a beautiful and well-adjusted family, Robyn. Through all the struggles you and John have overcome the odds – your story is an inspiration. Good luck with the book – your story needs to be told.
Thank you so much Barb!
Good to see this- and you all look great on camera! I’m glad you did the interview.
Thank you JM. We are too. I think the message is the most important aspect.
Hello Team O. Feel saddened and inspired at the same time by this. Thanks for sharing it. More people need to hear this!
Thank you Alex! I think I can piece together where you are from, thank you for stopping by and I am glad you are both saddened and inspired – that is exactly what I hope my book will achieve for my readers – I want readers to feel sad about the current situation but also inspired to encourage change!
Hi Robyn. I should have IDd myself – Alex aka @dreshubby on twitter. Just so glad to see how you have overcome the giant. Now for the next giant – the book
Alex – draft 1 stands at 92,000 words – I’m new at this non-technical writing stuff – I’m in the process of editing draft 1 into draft 2.
It is hard work finding the time with a full time job and a full time family.
Any offers of beta readers gratefully received!
That’ll depend on when you need a beta reader – My calendar look better after September :-/ . I can understand that your hands are quite full. Life with so many responsibilities but at least you are a team doing it together!
I was half joking Alex – I don’t expect anyone to really have the time – but if someone did, I wouldn’t say no!
Thanks for sharing your story and struggles. It’s been a long road and it’s wonderful to see everyone thriving in their new home. Wishing you and Team O all the best!
And you look great and your family looks so happy. I can’t believe the little one sung off the monkey bars with no hands, and did a back flip!
You missed the concussion article? THAT is how it probably happened. She LOVES her flips – and refuses to wear her summer school DRESS to school (uniform culottes only, please) because she cannot do flips in a dress!
Thanks for the compliment, but I know what size I was BEFORE I started sitting at a computer endlessly fighting the battle. I WILL get back, but at the moment other things take priority.
They are sure thriving – so much we wish they would stop GROWING out of everything!
Hey Team O, it’s great to see your thriving family. Keep up the good work!
Your book is going to be a compelling and moving story.
Thank you Mel! I just have to finish it!
