From hidden to visible

by Team Oyeniyi

Long term readers may have noticed that on March 13 some parts of the history disappeared from view.  This was due to security reasons.

In summary, when John left Nigeria to go to Qatar in December, we never thought he would be going back to Nigeria.  The plan was for the children to join him in Qatar and they would come from there to here.  That did not work out and John had to return to Nigeria – we had nowhere else for him to go.  So back into hiding he went.  Once we knew that was to happen, I had to hope I had not published anything that could endanger him or our children.  I was tempted to make the whole site private again, but doing so may have been an indication John was returning to Nigeria, so I elected to leave it public.

I ran through all the pages and marked any identifying article as private.  As my family are now safe, I have set those pages public again.  As I want them to stay in the chronological order in which they were written, I am listing them here for those who wish to read the missing pieces of the jigsaw.  I also broke links between pages at that time and I will gradually replace those.  The wedding videos can now be viewed again too.

I am also very glad to be able to go back to calling my husband John!

If you choose to read back over some of these, please do remember to place the tone and words in the context of the time those articles were originally written.

I just spent an hour reading these and I am so glad I did! I loved the official at your wedding. He was very enthusiastic. And you looked lovely in both dresses. The rest had me in tears. Now, I’m thinking about your family in the air and I can’t quit smiling. Bless you and your wonderful family.

He was great – I wanted to find a specific bit of the ceremony where he was speaking, but at the time I couldn’t find the precise bit. One day I will look for it when I have some piece and quiet, but he spoke very eloquently about how much we must love each other to go through what we were going through and said to John to make sure he never forgot how much I must love him to go that far. :)

Don’t cry, Momfog – other parts of the world are different and sometimes we forget that in our cosy little worlds.
