Why Love versus Goliath?

by Team Oyeniyi

David & Goliath

Why is this site titled “Love versus Goliath”?  I saw this image today and thought it depicts how I felt at the start of this journey so very well.  Often, I still feel this way.

There is Love on the little horse, with nothing in the slingshot other than truth as a weapon.

There is the Government of a country, represented by a department.  Big, powerful: acts of parliament and regulations and processes and procedures as protective amour against our truth.

How could love prevail against such a mighty opponent?  Would truth really win?

Put yourself on the little horse – how would you feel?

Edit: I have tried to contact the artist, to no avail.  If you know the artist, please let me know!

I love the photo-it does represent your battle against your giant. But, remember the bigger they are-the harder they fall. Keep positive and look to happy times again. I wish you the best always.

Alone I’d probably stain my pants but with God all things are possible. I know it seems cliche but I am praying for you guys and that the seemingly impossible will become possible.

We are nearly there – just seven more pieces of paper to be sent to them. I was hoping it would be finalised by two weeks from now, but we have Easter with all the public holidays in there, so now I think it will take a bit longer.

Great, isn’t it? As soon as I saw the picture, I just thought it was SO applicable to how I felt! How many others feel too, I am sure.

Love & truth are a matter of the heart. Goliath depends on self-delusion, swagger and arrogance. The former expresses itself through flesh, blood and human relationship. The latter becomes a systemic juggernaut that swallows the human qualities of those who must administer it. When love holds a mirror to Goliath, the giant is confounded. The humans who are meant to administer disembodied policy have to either ignore or embrace their rediscovered humanity. That’s why its important to keep holding up that mirror. All power to you.

Thank you for your wonderful words! I like the concept that perhaps I am holding up the mirror.
